New Regulations for Reimbursement of Chronic Disease Treatment
The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) is adjusting the medical service fee schedule effective June 1, 2024.
Due to this significant change, we will henceforth charge a “Lifestyle-Related Disease Management Fee” for patients whose primary diagnosis is a lifestyle-related disease (high blood pressure, lipid metabolism disorder, or diabetes). This aims to ensure more comprehensive and holistic therapy and care.
As part of this adjustment, the previous “Specific Disease Management Fee” will be replaced by the new “Lifestyle-Related Disease Management Fee.”
This has been instructed by the government to enable improved, individually tailored care based on treatment plans.
For this purpose, we will create a government-mandated “Lifestyle-Related Disease Treatment Plan.”
This plan will help us establish treatment goals together with you, thereby optimizing treatment success.
Please note that we will require your signature for the creation of this treatment plan.
We kindly request your cooperation.
